Astrid Alcayaga (b Havana, Cuba 1974) of Chilean parents. He lived in Cuba until he was 19 years old and then lived in Chile for 12 years. In 2005 he traveled to South Florida in the USA. where he decided to settle from that date. Painting became in her a way of expression as a modern woman, to make clear her personal identity, past and present, in each of the colors she uses and decoding her daily passions and obsessions. He has worked under the direction of teachers Noel Santiesteban, César Beltrán, Tomás Esson and Sergio Payares. Its style is framed in the ancestral symbolism, incorporating diverse techniques that go from the classics to the abstract expressionism. Worthy heir to a family of intellectuals and artists, she lives art as a cardinal experience. Together with the elegance, the firmness of his work is deeply concluded and his canvases emerge from his mysterious intuition for the figurative, which are also superimposed on a calculated use of textures, and from a chromatic palette that could be determinant or not depending on your mood. In all of it there is a lot of transgression, of active non-conformity; it is the search that ends in a mutable alchemy.
